Vaimo Strengthens Its Asian Footprint by Entering Japan

Vaimo, a top global Magento eCommerce solution provider, continues its worldwide expansion by establishing a presence in Japan. The new office in Tokyo is a result of the strategic partnership with transcosmos, one of Asia’s largest eCommerce companies, which was signed in September 2015. The staff in the Tokyo office will consist of new hires of Vaimo as well as transferred transcosmos employees.

Entering the Japanese market is part of Vaimo’s strategy of becoming the world’s leading provider of eCommerce solutions based on the Magento platform. Japan is a well developed eCommerce-market. Three quarters of the population shop online and 89% of the e-shoppers have made purchases from a mobile device. Japan also exports a significant amount of products across borders, mainly to the United States and China. In 2015, eCommerce sales in Japan totaled 104.7 billion US dollars. The market had a steady growth of 14.6% for B2C and 5% for the B2B segment in 2014, according to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
