On October 13th, 2016, Vaimo Tallinn hosted 58 IT students from Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Centre, the largest vocational school in north-eastern Estonia that houses about 1,200 students. The school provides education and training in over 30 fields, including computer technology. Our objective was to introduce the students to what we do at Vaimo, and the day-to-day life of working at a tech company.
Several Vaimoers from Tallinn gave presentations to introduce Vaimo and our work processes, including our Front-end and Backend procedures. We had Vaimoers highlight our innovative Products & Tools Department, that arms the rest of the company with the technology to work efficiently and skillfully. We also had a Vaimoer talk about how she started as an intern, and another describe how he relocated from another country to work at Vaimo Tallinn.
We also had a Vaimoer describe our company core values: excellence, teamwork, fun, and open, and encouraged the students to investigate a company's core values before accepting employment. We truly enjoyed hosting these students, and encourage other businesses to consider doing the same. It was not only a great way to give back to the community, but also a fantastic opportunity to spread the word about Vaimo.
